Accommodation



Accommodation is in hotels and tourist apartments, furnished apartments, holiday homes, villas, cheap hotel (no stars), Guest Houses, youth hostels and camping facilities. Categories: There are 1 - to 5-star hotels, apartments are in A, B and C split. The Cyprus Tourism Organization (see addresses) will award the stars and controlled the standard.

HOTELS: There are over 500 hotels and apartment hotels and hotels with no easy category. There are 10% for operation and 3% tax. Outside the main season to grant numerous discount accommodations (resorts: November 1 - March 31, except Dec. 20 - Jan. 6; mountain resorts: 1 Oct - 30 June). Children who are in a room with their parents, also receive discount: 25% (6-12 years); 50% (1-6 years); by appointment (under 1 year). PENSIONS: Are there mainly in Nicosia and Lemesos.

CAMPING: There are seven official campsites: Polis, and Troodos (March - Oct.), Zenon Geroshipu Gardens and Agia Napa (April - Oct.), Forest Beach (east of Larnaca, June - Oct.) and Feggari and Kalymnos Beach ( year-round).

Travel - International

Note: In October 1974 were Famagusta, Kyrenia and Karavostassi and the Ercan airport by the government of Cyprus declared illegal ports of entry. Anyone who arrives here may not be in the southern part of the island to travel further. Further information from the Cyprus Tourism Center (see addresses).

PLANE: Cyprus' national airline is Cyprus Airways (CY). Over 38 international airlines offer flights to Cyprus.

Average flight times: Frankfurt - Larnaca: 3 hr 45; Vienna - Larnaca: 3 hours 15; Zurich - Larnaca: 3 hr 45th

International airports: Larnaca (LCA) is located 5 km south of the city. Hourly buses to the city center (journey time 15 min). At the airport, there are two banks (24 hour open), a post office, duty-free shops, car rental desk, tourist information, hotel reservations, bars and restaurants. Taxis are also available.
Paphos (PFO) is located 15 km east of the city (25 minutes). At the airport there is a duty-free shop, car rental desk, a bank / exchange office, bars and restaurants.
Ercan (ECN) is located 12 km east of Nicosia (20 minutes travel time) in Northern Cyprus (Turkish part) and is mainly used by Turkish Airlines flights.

From Girne and Famagusta in northern Cyprus after ferries operate Mersin and Antalya (Turkey).
Several Kreuzfahrlinien run Cyprus, including Classical Cruises, Cunard Line, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Swan Hellenic Cruises and Louis Cruise Lines (website: www.louiscruises.com). Health

1) polio occurs, not typhoid.

2)milk is pasteurized, and tap water is generally quite safe drinkable. Durchgekochte only good and served hot meat and fish dishes should be eaten. Pork, mayonnaise and raw salads should be enjoyed with caution. Cooked vegetables and fruits should be peeled.

Hepatitis A occurs, hepatitis B is endemic.

Accommodation for work and study is an HIV test in the country, (in Northern Cyprus for long term stay).

Rabies occurs. For Bißwunden as quickly as possible medical help.

Healthcare: The medical facilities are good. The emergency number is 199 (in all cities). The conclusion of a travel insurance is recommended.

Duty Free

The following items can be imported duty-free imported to Cyprus:

200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco;

1 liter of spirits and 750 ml of wine;

300 ml of perfume and eau de toilette;

Gifts up to a value of 50 C £.

Note: Not more than 150 ml per bottle of perfume.

Import ban: fruit and cut flowers.

Money

Currency: 1 Cyprus pound = 100 cents. Currency Symbol: C £, CYP (ISO code). There are banknotes with a value of 20, 10, 5 and £ 1 C; coins with a value of 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cents.

Money Exchange: Who Cypriot banks of foreign currencies needed, it must register in advance.

Traveler's checks: If into euros or British pounds issued.

Visa

Entry Restrictions: people whose passports of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus issued, may be refused entry. Latest information from the consular representation.

PASSPORT: Generally necessary, except for nationals of the following countries with a valid identity card:

1) Citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and other EU countries and Switzerland.
The passport must be received by the entry still valid for 3 months, for visapflichtige citizen of the passport must be 6 months from the date the application was valid. The German child's identity card (with photo) is recognized.

VISAS: Generally necessary, except for citizens of the following countries for a stay of up to 3 months (unless otherwise specified):

(a) Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and other EU countries and Switzerland;

(b) Commonwealth countries (except nationals of Bangladesh and Mauritius);

(c) Andorra, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Iceland, Japan, Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro), Qatar, Colombia, Korea (South), Croatia, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein , Lithuania, Malta, Mauritania, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Hungary, USA, Vatican City and United Arab Emirates.

Visa types: Simple and transit visa (to be paid at the airport).

Visa fees: 8,70 € (nationals of some countries receive visas free of charge). Fees can only be paid in cash.

Validity: Max 3 months from the date of issuance. Transit visa is valid max. 3 days, if you valid travel documents and a plane ticket can submit further.

Application: Personally at the consulate or the embassy consular section (see addresses).

Documents:
(a) passport with at least 3 months validity, where the country established diplomatic relations with Cyprus maintains, otherwise 6 months.
(b) 1 / 2 application forms.

(d) Proof funds.

Processing time: 1-4 days. 4 weeks, if the application for processing after Cyprus must be sent.
